Public invited to attend

The 27th NC Company D in Conjunction with the Lenoir County Battlefield Commission will be hosting a Civil War School of Instruction on May 12, 2007 from 9am to 5pm. The 27th NC Company D portrays a unit that was actually formed from Jones and Lenoir Counties known as "The Tuckahoe Braves". 

Demonstrations will be conducted on Civil War military drill, firing of muskets, and campaign style camping.  Rations will be issued to soldiers according to the Quarter Master's guidelines of 1862 for reenactors meals.  Units that have been invited to participate include the 1st NC, and the 18th NC.
