The Order of Caswell Descendants is a collective group of people who have proved their lineage to Richard Caswell, Sr.  An honorary designation shall be bestowed by the Heritage Genealogical Society to anyone that can document their Caswell heritage.  The Order requires no meetings, dues or responsibilities.  Each applicant will be required to fill out an application and submit documentation of lineage.  Once the applicant has been approved for Order of the Caswell Descendants, a certificate shall be presented at a special ceremony honoring the memory of the Caswell Family. Their name shall be added to the Book of Caswell Descendants and kept at Heritage Place, Lenoir Community College in Kinston, North Carolina.  
The applicant for designation needs to include information for each generation: The following information will be requested on the form.

Some document linking each generation to the previous one will be required. There are many sources for this information in addition to birth, death and marriage certificates. Documentation for prior generations may include state census schedules, obituaries, church records, and many more.  Note:  You may be approved by submitting a prior approved application from an approved organization in which you would provide the documentation from where your line splits (i.e. a grand child may go in on the approved application of a grandparent only providing the documentation of the parents and herself/himself).

Submit the completed application with copies of documentation to:

The completed application with documentation will be reviewed by a select committee of the Heritage Genealogical Society.  You will be notified within six weeks of acceptance into the Order of Caswell Descendants.

Confirmation into the Order shall be done once a year at a special meeting of the Heritage Genealogical Society
