This page is dedicated to the memory of Dr. Keats Sparrow who served on the board of the Lenoir County Colonial Commission. 
  His contributions were outstanding.
Dr. Sparrow edited and directed the publication of the book "The First of Patriots and Best of Men: Richard Caswell in Public Life".
 

Mission Statement

The mission of the Colonial Commission is to focus upon the colonial and revolutionary era of Kinston-Lenoir County and neighboring counties from which Lenoir County was created from in 1791. It is our aim to raise public awareness and an appreciation of our historical, geographical and  cultural beginnings.
